Biography
Adam studies gig work, precarious work, and cultural work at the University of Toronto. My dissertation explores the precarious life of touring musicians and music workers using ethnographic and qualitative methods. In my past life I worked as a sound technician in western Canada, mixing shows in weddings halls to stadiums and music festivals. I am developing a project exploring artist riders as a lens to better understand life on the road and the asymmetrical bargaining process in the contracting of musical labour. Music is my passion, I listen, make and study it.
