Biography

Hello! My name is Alyssa (she/her) and I am a Planner with KLM Planning Partners Inc in the Greater Toronto Area. I am also a Masters of Science in Planning and Development Candidate at the University of Toronto (Class of 2024).

I graduated from Queen's University (Class of 2021) with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Planning, and earned a variety of graduation awards including the highest GPA standing in the courses in the final year of the program. I was the President of the Geography & Planning Student Council for my third and fourth years of study.

I am well-travelled and aim to incorporate experiencing new countries and experiences into my life as often as I can. I spent a semester of my third year of university at the Université de Lausanne in Switzerland, studying sustainable urban planning practices in Europe. I was an intern at a start-up in London England for the summer between my first and second year of study at Queens and I spent a month studying Spanish in Valladolid, Spain. I completed my last semester of highschool on a 90-day trek through Europe with MEI International Academy. In between formal overseas experiences, I have embarked on backpacking adventures with friends and family across North America, Europe and Asia.

I am curious about how we engage with our environments, what draws us to certain cities and why we are able to call cities our “favourite”. I would be interested in uncovering the emotional draws to different international cities, coupled with the infrastructure and planning policy that shapes the urban environments and, in turn, influences how we experience the city. I hope to pair my passion for travel with my interest in planning and development. I am always happy to chat about anything travel or planning related!
