Biography

I’m currently a second-year MSc student at UTM, and am a part of Dr. Tim Duval’s Wetland and Ecohydrology research group, focusing on the sediments of urban riparian zones of Southern Ontario. I study riparian zone soils on a spatial and temporal scale across varying regions to examine heavy metal concentration and fluctuation. I am interested to discover the connections between heavy metal cycles with differing regional sedimentology and anthropogenic settings in urban environments. Coming from a background of environmental science and geology, I have had the opportunity to study and explore the geology and natural settings of a range of environments across the US, primarily focused in the Appalachian Mountains. Previously during my undergraduate experience at ASU, I researched landscape ecology, focusing on ecosystem service change of a NC-SC watershed using GIS mapping software and InVEST models.
