D. Charles Taylor

I am an administrative professional with nearly a decade of experience in higher education. Before joining the University of Toronto, I worked at York University where I supported the Department of Psychology—one of the largest in North America. In that role, I gained expertise in faculty recruitment, tenure and promotion processes, student support, and academic governance, while also developing systems that streamlined operations and improved communication.

With a background in Film & Television and Computer Programming, I bring a solutions-focused approach to administration—combining structure with creativity to design efficient workflows and introduce digital tools that make work easier for faculty, staff, and students. I value collaboration, handle sensitive information with care, and take pride in ensuring that complex academic procedures run smoothly and transparently.

I am especially grateful for the warm welcome I have received from colleagues in the Department of Geography & Planning. Their support has made my transition to the University of Toronto a positive experience, and I look forward to contributing to the department’s continued growth and success.
