Communications/Events Assistant Position - Causal

The  Department of Geography and Planning at the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto, is seeking to fill a Events/Communications Assistant position focused on creating promotional material, organizing, assisting with events and other backend duties.

Qualifications: 

  • Event Coordination experience is preferable
  • Creating promotional material on Adobe Creative Suite- MS Office, and the ability to learn new software programs quickly- Graphic Design, Intermediate to Advanced Skills on Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop)
  • Intermediate to advanced copywriting skills 
  • Good written/communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated; takes initiative; pro-active
  • Committed, reliable, ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Qualified applicants should be available to work in person intermittently at the University of Toronto St. George campus, but majority of work will be completed remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with event coordination for conferences and events
  • Designing promotional material for events,  Adobe Creative Suite
  • Promoting and assisting with events which includes organizing, editing photos
  • Assisting with administrative duties as required

Qualified applicants should be available to work in person intermittently at the University of Toronto St. George campus, but majority of work will be completed remotely. 

The successful applicant will be offered a contract to be completed over the course of the Fall 2022, Salary will be commensurate with experience, projected between $20 - $28/hour.
