Title:
PhD Student, (she/her)
Biography :

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Planning researching successful sites of Canadian supervised consumption facilities in regards to land zoning, city bylaws, public council meetings, and the interaction of the three levels of government alongside the role of the city planner, acknowledging the precarious nature that these sites exist in under the current legal exemption system by the Canadian federal government. I am interested at looking at the larger sociatial issues like NIMBYism and neoliberalism, that are causing the pushback to and the errosion of social services like harm reduction sites and how we can dismantle and combat these in order to maintain and create these life saving services.

My background is in history, political science and development and have previously focused on rebuilding cities and communities after conflict and violence. I have previously worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association and BC Housing and the New Democratic Party.
