Biography

My professional experience is related to public space project design, public space standards, urban planning and green infrastructure spanning more than eight years at the Public, Private and Academic sectors. Former director of Public Space and Non-Motorized Mobility within the Ministry of Mobility and Urban Planning in the State of Nuevo León for four years (2020-2024). I was in charge of the creation of a Metropolitan Urban Plan for the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, that encompasses 18 municipalities and 5.3 million people; the design and draft of public space regeneration projects taking into account green and blue infrastructure; and also in charge of the heritage architecture preservation. Before that, I was Coordinator of Regeneration within the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the State of Nuevo León (2019-2020), Professor of Urban Planning at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (2018-2019), Planning Director at the local firm Hello Cities (2018-2019), Head of Area of Planning of Master Plans in the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (FONATUR) (2015) and Urban Analyst within the Department of Urban Projects of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the State of Nuevo León (2014-2015).

Regarding my education, I hold a Master of Science in Sustainable Development from the University of Uppsala, Sweden thanks to the CONACYT-I2T2 scholarship which I attended from 2015 to 2017 in Sweden. I graduated from the career of Architecture with a specialization on urban planning within the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. And I have two diplomas, the first one in Public-Private Partnerships for the Development of Services and Infrastructure given jointly by ITESM and the Inter-American Development Bank (2014) and a Masters Diploma from York University Masters Certificate in Sustainable Infrastructure Development and Finance at the Schulich School of Business (2022). I have also taken several courses at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy related to land management, zoning, capturing capital gains and best cases in Latin America.
