Biography

Frances Leung is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Geography, Geomatics and Environment at the University of Toronto. She employs remote sensing technology and geospatial analysis to investigate urban vegetation changes, land use dynamics and the role of green infrastructure in fostering adaptable and environmentally resilient cities.

With over a decade of corporate advisory experience, she has supported leading organizations across public and private sectors in driving data-driven decision making, streamlining digital transformation efforts, and enhancing risk management strategies. With a focus on improving operational efficiency and mitigating environmental risks, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges theory and practice to deliver impactful solutions for both academia and businesses.

Beyond her research work, she is committed to community engagement through sustainable gardening education. She regularly delivers public horticulture workshops and presentations, fostering environmental stewardship and connecting people with nature.
