Jasmine Kara

Jasmine graduated from the Department of Geography and Planning with an Honours Bachelor of Arts (HBA) in Human Geography, specializing in Urban Geography and Planning. During her undergraduate years, she was actively involved in TUGS (Toronto Undergraduate Geography Society), along with four other on-campus volunteer roles during her undergraduate degree. 

Driven by her passion for events, Jasmine pursued a post-graduate certificate in Event Management after graduating from the University of Toronto. She has over seven years of event experience, planning and managing a diverse array of events such as film screenings, academic seminars, street fairs, weddings, conferences, fundraisers, and virtual events. Her expertise spans across corporate, social, and not-for-profit settings, managing gatherings ranging from intimate dinners to large-scale productions with 500+ attendees.

Since October 2022, Jasmine has been serving as the Event and Communications Coordinator for the Department of Geography and Planning. In her role, she is dedicated to fostering connections and engagement among staff, faculty, alumni, donors, and undergraduate and graduate students across all three campuses. Through strategic event planning and effective communication strategies, Jasmine endeavours to ensure that everyone remains informed, supported, and actively involved within the departmental community.
