Biography : 

Prior to beginning my Master's degree at U of T, I worked in the fashion industry. My research interests mainly revolve around the connections between biodiversity and material culture. In particular, how the global economy and the current biodiversity crisis are affecting these relationships. My MA research in the Peruvian Amazon seeks to understand how Indigenous female artisans deploy their traditional ecological knowledge, cultural and social capitals to make a living in urban and rural areas. Using a livelihoods framework, I use qualitative and quantitative methods; I am also interested in creative geographic methods such as photography.
